  • Your own past customers, now due

Homes where you installed the last permitted system, and it is now in its peak replacement years. They already know you; nobody else is mailing them for you.

  • The list

Owner-occupied homes in your ZIPs whose system is in its peak replacement years, best odds first, then older systems for check-up offers. Owner name and mailing address, ready for mail merge.

  • What happened last month

Which listed homes pulled a replacement permit since, and whether it was you or another company. A floor, not a scorecard: permits miss some replacements.

  • What we left out

Rentals, undeliverable addresses, systems too new to be due, and every record the county marks confidential. Counted, so you know the list is clean.

What happened to last month's list

Of 673 homes on last month's list, 12 pulled a new HVAC replacement permit since. 2 of those permits are yours.

Permits catch only a share of real replacements, so the true number is higher. This is a floor, not a scorecard.

Why these ages.

We counted it instead of guessing. We followed 127,536 Austin homes with a permitted AC from 2014 to 2025. Each year, we checked how old each home's system was and whether it got a replacement permit.

Newer systems: about 6 homes in 1,000 a year. Peak years: about 2 in 100. Permits miss some replacements, so real rates run higher; the shape is the point.

HVAC3.3× as likely
Water heaters2.7× as likely
Solar (inverters, repairs)3–4× as likely

Water heaters and solar show the same rise and fall, at their own ages. Roofs, pools and windows showed no age signal in permits, so we don't sell them yet. The exact ages come with your list.

Share of homes that got an AC replacement permit in a year, by how old the system was. Groups run youngest to oldest and are not the same length; the exact ages come with your list. The oldest group sits lower, likely because many were already swapped without a permit. Source: City of Austin building permits, completed AC installs and replacements, 2014–2025; n = 127,536 homes (1,042,058 home-years). The Austin counts include rentals; your list doesn't.

Six rules we keep.

  1. One company per trade per ZIP.If your ZIP is taken for your trade, we say so, and we don't sell it twice. Other trades may get the same homes.
  2. Owner-occupied homes on your list.Records the county marks confidential or undeliverable are never used, on any list.
  3. Mail only.No robocalls, no texts. These records carry no consent for either.
  4. Proof every month. You see which listed homes pulled a replacement permit, and which company pulled it. A floor, since some replacements skip the permit.
  5. A free sample first, and a refund rule.50 homes in your ZIPs before you pay anything. After that, if more than 3 of 20 addresses you spot-check aren't the current owner or are wrongly flagged, we refund that month.
  6. Three months, then month to month.Cancel by email. No auto-renewing year.

Another city? Ask below and we'll tell you honestly whether it can work. Before a city's first list, we re-check the ages on its own permits.

What it isn't: a promise of jobs. We know which systems are at the age replacements peak, not which owner will call. We don't have mailing response numbers yet, so we won't quote you one. To check the math with your own numbers: Example: one $6,000 AC job at 36% gross profit is about $2,160, or about 7 months at $299.
